A well-established food manufacturing business going through an abundance of positive change led by the board. They need a Technical Manager to drive standards across the site and bring the site functions together.

Overview

The role is with a food business producing products to major retailers. As Technical Manager the ideal candidate is a hands-on, factory-focused food professional. The role would suit a tried-and-tested Technical Manager, or a QA Supervisor / Assistant Quality Manager who is ready for a step up.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Technical Director the Technical Manager's duties will include:

* Managing the day-to-day activities of the technical team on site.

* Ensuring the HACCP system is adhered to and managing site audit schedules to ensure compliance.

* Liaising with customers on quality issues and co-ordinating customer visits / audits.

* Proactively communicating information to the business on technical performance.

* Managing training of the QA and hygiene team and technical training of site colleagues.

Candidate Profile

* Ideally you will have a Food Science degree or equivalent.

* Strong experience in UK retailer audits.

* HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 preferred but not essential.

* A working knowledge of BRC V9.

* The ability to take ownership of a technical function.

* This is a challenging role due to the customers on site so you need to be able to challenge the norms, improve behaviours and work well under pressure.
