Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity?

We are partnering with Zen Educate to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher for our specialized SEMH Boys School in Haywards Heath. This role offers a competitive salary and the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

About the School:

Our school is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for boys with SEMH and other special educational needs (SEN). While the students may present challenging behaviours, our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is highly supportive and committed to staff development. We provide comprehensive training to equip our team with the skills necessary to excel in this rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH and SEN.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
  • Manage and support challenging behaviour with empathy and patience.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure the holistic development of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and SLT.
  • Participate in SEN reviews, meetings, and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with SEMH and SEN.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies for supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
