We're currently representing a prestigious Top 40 Accountancy Firm, actively seeking a talented Accounts Semi Senior to join their team based in Cambridge.

The Team:

The accounts team offers a variety of accounting services, including bookkeeping, year-end account preparation, and tax return filing. They prioritise building strong relationships and serve as trusted advisors to a diverse clientele, predominantly owner-managed businesses. This allows you the chance to work closely with key decision-makers and significantly influence the direction of their companies. Within their Peterborough-based team, you will be tasked with preparing year-end accounts and tax computations for clients whose turnovers typically reach up to £2 million.

The role:

  • Handling moderate to large accounts preparation assignments, including related tax computations.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and VAT returns when necessary.
  • Reviewing the work of team members, as well as your own, before submission to the job manager.
  • Proactively resolving client queries with minimal managerial input.
  • Training and mentoring junior colleagues.

Requirements:

  • AAT part/fully qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a reputable UK based accounting firm.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to upholding professional ethics and integrity in all aspects of work.
