Our client provides a range of recycling and waste management services to the construction & demolition, commercial & industrial and local authority sectors as well as the general public. An exciting opportunity currently exists for a supervisor to work at a composting operation in Exeter. The operation consists of receiving garden waste, shredding, screening and turning the material to produce a finished PAS100 compost product.

With your experience of plant operation and routine maintenance, as well as supervising teams, your role will be to manage the day-to-day operations within the composting operation. This will include directing staff and contractors to carry out operations as required for shredding, screening, turning and loading the compost.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

* Ensure the site is clean and tidy and that operations are carried out with due regard to the health and safety of all employees and contractors.

* Operate plant and machinery and carry out daily inspection checks as required. Complete defect and damage reports and other associated paperwork and follow the escalation process to the appropriate repair facility.

* Carry out routine servicing and minor repairs, assist fitters with other repairs. Plan and organise maintenance across various plant and sites as required.

* Provide high levels of customer service at all times.

* Safely and efficiently direct and control waste delivery vehicles in the green waste site area.

* Carry out site inspections, monitoring and checks as directed. Record findings appropriately. Maintain site records in accordance with company requirements.

* Ensure compliance with the site Permit, planning and Health & Safety law.

* Liaise with regulatory inspectors from time to time as required.

This is a full-time, permanent role. Work hours are 7:30am- 4:30pm, Mon-Fri.
