Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an award-winning school based in Preston. Our bespoke service supports children aged 4-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, and a range of other complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, caring team that makes a real impact every day.

Overview:

Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Preston
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Pay: £12.50 - £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Contributed pensionThe Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will involve supporting the classroom teacher with the educational and personal development of students with autism and complex needs. You'll be assisting with daily activities, helping with the implementation of lesson plans, and promoting independence and social skills in a safe and nurturing environment. You will also help with transporting students to and from the school from their residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher with implementing the curriculum for students with special educational needs
Assist with the personal care and daily needs of the children, promoting independence
Support students with communication and social interaction
Transport children from the residential service to school and back
Provide a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environmentThe Candidate: To thrive in this role, you will:

Have a genuine passion for working with children with learning disabilities and complex needs
Be empathetic, patient, and resilient, with a caring nature
Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)
Have the right to work in the UK
