GSL are currently recruiting an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Secondary school in Portsmouth. You will be joining an inclusive and collaborative team to give children the opportunities that they deserve.

This school provides highly specialised Alternative Provision for children and young people in KS3 and KS4 who for a variety of reasons are unable to attend a mainstream school. Students are taught in small groups and access a tailored curriculum which include lessons such as catering, outdoor education, social skills, enrichment, vocational lessons and more!  

Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant may include:

-            Working with small groups of KS3 and 4 children, through targeted interventions, to ensure all students reach their full potential.

-            Adapting your practice where needed to meet the needs of all students through targeted, differentiated support.

-            Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can thrive and flourish.

-            Supporting children with 1:1 reading.

-            Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and providing informative feedback to pupils.

-            Safeguarding will be your number one priority, ensuring the welfare of the children.

Have the right to work in the UK. 

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 

Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
