We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Workforce Transformation and Education to join our senior leadership team within the People and Culture Department at NHS North East London. As a professional and credible HR leader, you will work through professional People Services networks across the ICB to deliver our strategic priorities on employment and workforce. Your role will be crucial in creating meaningful work opportunities and employment for the people of North East London, now and in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Workforce Strategy: Develop and deliver high-impact system-level interventions and programmes to execute the Workforce Strategy. Take overall responsibility for long-term strategic planning and governance arrangements.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with NHS providers, local authorities, voluntary sector partners, and other system partners to develop strategies that improve workforce productivity and deploy innovative people technologies.
  • Workforce Transformation: Develop programmes to embed workforce transformation, support service redesign, and optimize the skills and contribution of the NEL workforce.
  • Education and Training: Collaborate with clinical leadership and HR directors to advance the education, training, and development agenda. Establish education and training plans that align with the needs of staff, patients, and citizens.
  • Team Leadership: Line manage the Workforce Transformation team, fostering a culture of empowerment and effective performance management, including appraisal, absence management, and professional development.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience in a senior HR leadership role within a large, complex organisation and a proven track record in workforce transformation and strategic planning. They must have a strong understanding of workforce productivity and data analysis tools with excellent leadership, negotiation and collaborative skills.
