Salary: £30000 - £32000/annum daily rate option available

Our client is seeking a Senior Specialist Housing Advocate, who will work within a dynamic, crisis intervention, advocacy and service support based role . This role will require you to provide safe and appropriate accommodation which meets the needs of these service users. The role will be based in be based in Hammersmith where you will provide support Monday to Friday. This will be 35 hours per week , with 2 days working from home.

The successful candidate will work with service users in Hammersmith and Fulham, Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea with an identified housing need, including those who are homeless or have additional needs, such as poor mental health or substance use. Using an assertive outreach approach, you will work proactively to engage victim/survivors of domestic abuse, aiming to reduce risk, improve wellbeing, and provide support to access safe accommodation. As part of this, you will work closely with key partners, including homelessness teams, local authorities, and housing associations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Advocate you will ensure that the project runs effectively, supporting with implementation, contributing to reporting and taking a lead on the service delivery. You will also line manage the Specialist Housing Advocate.

Juggling front line work and project coordination to ensure service levels are met and the outcomes are positive for those using the services. contributing to reporting and taking a lead on the service delivery.

You will work with a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support the duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

Ensure effective access for survivors and encourage their engagement with the service, through proactive contact and assessment.

Requirements

You must have over 12 months experience in a similar role and have experience, for example, in domestic violence, criminal justice, law, social work or another related area.

Have knowledge of conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse with a housing need and implement safety and support plans. Have experience of safeguarding cases by referring to Social Care and MARAC where appropriate.

Have experience of assessing the needs and safety of women at risk giving due regard to Adult at Risk policies and procedures.

Have a good understanding of housing options available for women experiencing domestic abuse, including those who are homeless, or who are in social housing or the private rented sector.

Experience of risk and needs assessment, safety and support planning, particularly with clients with complex/multiple needs
