Role: M&E Contracts Manager

Location: Birmingham

Business hiring: Major MEP Contractor that focusses on High-End Residential new build & refurbishment projects valued between £5m - £20m.

Salary: Up to £90k plus package

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Overview

* Support the delivery of the business vision, goals, and strategy.

* Lead a professional approach to all aspects of the project delivery.

* Implementation of effective production on sites.

* Maintain high standard installations.

Key Areas of Responsibility

* Manage installation teams on site.

* Carry out a validation of the materials and labour for the project, so this can be tracked and monitored on a monthly basis through to completion.

* To work with and assist the Commercial team ensuring all financial entitlements, variations, day work's valuations are claimed in a timely manner, providing necessary technical back-ups and assistance as required.

* Implement the various internal procedures

* Attend weekly production meeting at HQ to forecast week ahead and discuss any issues.

* Conduct site audits for each plot and share with the Operations team to improve standards, reduce risk, identify trends and give feedback.

* The greatest risk to any project is uncertainty, therefore the Contracts Manager must maintain focus on this as their main concern as an attempt to reduce risk significantly through open communication with all Managers and fellow senior Management representatives, so all can voice their opinions and concerns.

* Develop apprentices to become high quality tradesman and retain within the business.

* Oversee site stock management and arrange returns of any unused items, delivery notes are returned to the office on a weekly basis.

* Ensure site containers are kept in a tidy and useable state at all times.

* Chase missing items directly with the relevant suppliers.

* Monitor the Gas and Water compliance across all Projects.

* Review the Subcontractor fortnightly Pay run and approve.

* Review weekly direct labour pay run and approve.

* Drive and manage the maximisation of profit by maintaining commercial awareness.

* Read through job specifications and ensure that requirements are met.

* Continue to liaise with the project delivery and client team as required to ensure a smooth construction period.

* Develop relationships with our Clients.

* To manage and monitor the Health & safety throughout the project and carry out any relevant tool box talks.

Experience and Qualifications

At least 5 years' experience in building services within the residential sector.

HNC/HND
