Director of Customer Engagement

UK Remote, with regular travel across the UK

Job Summary

As the Director of Customer Engagement, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing Babington’s Customer Engagement Strategy. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for driving Babington’s Customer Engagement, Account Management and Marketing activities. Your goal will be to enhance Customer Engagement, build strong relationships with customers, and drive revenue growth. 

To excel in this role, you should have a proven track record in customer engagement, account management and marketing initiatives. You should be experienced in building and developing strong high performing cross functional teams, capable of developing and maintaining large scale multiyear employer partnerships.

Required Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Babington’s Customer Engagement strategy, to include new business opportunities, relationship management, marketing and bid activities – owning the overall opportunity and sales pipeline for all programmes and services across the business.
  • Lead and direct marketing efforts, developing strategies and campaigns, participating in industry events to enhance brand awareness and generate business growth opportunities.
  • Develop relationships and influence at an executive level, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Babington’s unique Customer Value Proposition and Corporate Service solutions are both aligned to customers strategic needs and talent strategies, and showcased effectively.
  • Drive commercially focused contracting and statement of works, establishing a clear and contracted pipeline for all programmes and services, across all teams and Customer relationships.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience of working strategically with customers to identify opportunities for funded learning, as part of their unified talent and development strategy.
  • Proven experience of leading Business Development teams, ensuring your team all achieve / exceed their targets with appropriate sales and account management methodologies.
  • Proven experience of achieving your own target and ensuring your team all achieve / exceed their targets.

  • You’ll be a highly effective communicator, capable of engaging people verbally, in writing, via social channels or with presentations.

  • Your strong influencing and negotiating skills will ensure people see things your way and as you’ll have a strong moral compass, you’ll focus on delivering win / win outcomes.

  • Have a deep understanding of funded learning solutions and the apprenticeship landscape and understand how to bring this to life for your team and customers.

  • Competent using a variety of Tech, from Office programmes like Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams to CRM’s and social platforms / sites.

  • Proven leadership experience in funded learning and apprenticeship sales.
