Our client is a leading force in the Defence industry, delivering cutting-edge, technology-driven solutions in defence, aerospace, and security worldwide. This role is within their Aerospace division, where engineers are at the helm of designing, developing, manufacturing, and supporting state-of-the-art fixed-wing military aircraft.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Product Safety Engineer to lead safety engineering efforts in the Air Sector. As part of the Product Integrity Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and integrity of products and services across their entire engineering lifecycle on a global scale. You'll work closely with Chief Engineers' teams and contribute to the development of the next-generation 6th fighter jet. You will engage with DE&S and the MAA to guarantee airworthiness and product integrity in a cutting-edge digital environment, all while prioritising safety and security in every advancement.

Key Responsibilities

* Assessing aircraft, systems, subsystems, and support products for safety throughout the product lifecycle, including conducting hazard analysis (PHA, HA) and system safety assessments (SSARs), and reviewing fault tree (FTA) and event tree analyses (ETA) for certification requirements.

* Generating, updating, and reviewing Aircraft Zonal Hazard Analysis (ZHA) reports to support certification or provide inputs to partner companies.

* Managing and updating hazard logs for platforms and support products, while preparing safety assessments and design justifications.

* Reviewing certification and qualification evidence for platforms and support products and creating safety certification arguments to demonstrate acceptable design safety.

* Ensuring all safety engineering evidence supports product safety certification and preparing certification materials for internal, partner, and customer reviews.

* Conducting risk assessments for weapon platforms and supporting Typhoon platform systems/subsystems, ensuring ongoing airworthiness and through-life product safety.

* Collaborating with internal and external customers to set delivery timelines.

* Allocating tasks to qualified team members, including managing performance reviews and career development.

* Coordinating with the executive team to ensure availability of skilled personnel within the Product Integrity discipline.

Requirements

* Minimum HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent in a STEM subject, or relevant experience

* Safety Engineering experience/ critical and analytical thinking along with excellent problem-solving skills

* Strong self-motivation and effective communication skills, both verbal and written

* Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering experience would be advantageous.

* Systems or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
