About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Challenging Behaviours to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role has become available due to the expansion of our SEN department to meet the growing needs of our pupils. You will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to provide tailored support to students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our small class sizes ensure that each child receives focused attention, making it a perfect environment for an SEN TA who wants to make a meaningful impact. This role stands out because of the exceptional support and resources available, along with the opportunity to work with a dynamic and compassionate team dedicated to inclusive education.
Application Requirements:
• Proven experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs, specifically those with challenging behaviours.
• A strong understanding of SEN strategies and techniques, particularly for managing and supporting behavioural needs.
• Patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or teaching assistance is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with challenging behaviours in both one-on-one and group settings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to adapt lessons and provide differentiated support.
• Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
• Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback and suggestions for improvements.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions to stay updated on the latest SEN practices and methodologies.
