This Design Manager will oversee a highly varied international portfolio of new build, refurbishment, and redevelopment projects across all RIBA stages within the education sector.

Client Details

This opportunity is a newly-created role within a high calibre real estate projects team at a PE backed education group. They have an impressive global footprint, an ongoing commitment to deliver best in class school facilities, and an ambitious growth and expansion plan. This role will be highly varied, fast paced, and challenge you to generate high quality yet commercially viable design. The position is based in the London head office with some international travel required, and hybrid working is on offer.

Description

As the Design Manager you will have responsibilities across:

New project appraisals and feasibility studies
Development and implementation design strategies that align with the organisation's objectives
Appointment and management of external design teams to develop required designs
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure design consistency and effectiveness
Support the main contractor procurement process to appoint the best partner
Ensure the timely delivery of design projects within the agreed budget
Support the delivery team to ensure design quality and brand standards are met
Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards of consultant performanceProfile

A successful Design Manager should have:

An architecture qualification (RIBA, ARB)
Proven education sector design experience
A background in working through all RIBA stages
Ideally experience operating in a client-side role and/or main contractor role appointing and managing external consultant teams
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders
Knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in the construction industryJob Offer
