Job Title - Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

Location - West Kent

Salary - £53,000 - £65,000 plus benefits

Job Summary

This is a full-time role for an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Construction company in Kent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing project requirements, and coordinating with various departments. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting material take-offs, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and monitoring project costs to ensure alignment with budget.

Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

* Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.

* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project specifications and budgets.

* Prepare tender documents and manage the tendering process, including evaluating bids and negotiating contracts.

* Work closely with the Bid team providing them MS project chart and Construction Methodology for tenders.

Requirements

* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is an advantage.

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.

* Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.

* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

* Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and MS Project

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all departments, supply chain and clients.

* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is advantageous but not mandatory.
