We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Sous Chef to join our client’s culinary team at their prestigious 4-star hotel. The ideal candidate is someone who is enthusiastic about creating exceptional food from scratch using only fresh ingredients. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef with a discerning palate and a love for culinary arts to showcase their talent in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in managing the kitchen's daily operations.
  • Prepare and cook meals to a high standard as stated in the hotel's menu, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate expertise and creativity in designing and preparing dishes, utilizing fresh and seasonal ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies, ensuring the freshness of ingredients and efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct quality checks on ingredients and prepared dishes to ensure consistency and culinary standards are met.
  • Work with the culinary team to constantly improve and update menus while keeping up with culinary trends.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant and hospitality staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct kitchen staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • A commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
