Technical Manager

£65,000 - £67,000 + 10% Bonus & flexi hours available.

A well-established food manufacturer who are incredibly busy, going from strength to strength. After gaining a new key retailer they need to strengthen their technical team. From a technical point of view, they're in a strong place with a BRC AA+ and no current gaps in the team.

The role would suit a tried-and-tested Technical Manager as opposed to someone stepping up.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Technical Manager the Technical Manager's duties will include:

* Managing the day-to-day activities of the technical team on site.

* Ensuring the HACCP system is adhered to and managing site audit schedules to ensure compliance.

* Liaising with retail customers on quality issues and co-ordinating customer visits / audits.

* Proactively communicating information to the business on technical performance.

* Managing training of the QA and hygiene team and technical training of site colleagues.

Candidate.

* Ideally you will have a Food Science degree or equivalent.

* Strong experience working with UK retailers, ideally the top six.

* HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 preferred but not essential.

* A working knowledge of BRC V9.

* The ability to take ownership of a technical function.

* This is a challenging role due to just how busy the site is.

* You will need to be able to challenge the norms, improve behaviours and work well under pressure.
