Financial Controller | Recruitment Industry | London (Hybrid) Location: London (Hybrid)Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 + Bonus & BenefitsAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a high-growth recruitment business as their first in-house finance hire. This is an excellent opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function and play a key role in the company’s continued expansion.The Role As Financial Controller, you will work closely with senior leadership, managing all aspects of finance, implementing best practices, and providing key insights to support strategic decision-making. The business operates on Xero as its accounting software and uses Bullhorn as its CRM.Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Preparing monthly management accounts and delivering commercial insights.
• Managing day-to-day finance processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Ensuring compliance with tax, VAT, and regulatory requirements.
• Working with external accountants, auditors, and advisors.
• Implementing financial controls and best practices to drive efficiency.
• Providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
• Experience in an SME environment or dealing with SME clients.
• Originally and qualified in practice (audit background preferred) 
• Experience within a professional services business desirable.
• Good knowledge of FRS102 and prior experience working with a group structure (UK and US entities) would be desirable.
• Hands-on experience with Xero (essential) and familiarity with Bullhorn CRM (desirable).
• A proactive, commercially minded individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
