Accounts Assistant

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000

Location: Leamington Spa - office based - Monday to Friday

About the Role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to support our busy Accounts Department. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily banking processes, and ensuring seamless client transactions — all while adhering to the companies policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately allocate client receipts (cheques, cash, transfers) and manage bank reconciliations.

• Handle daily bank downloads, CHAPS payments, and client fund transfers using NatWest Bankline.

• Open and manage client deposit accounts, ensuring accurate interest payments.

• Maintain and update client records, ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Produce and process cheques, manage purchase ledger invoices, and assist with nominal account allocations.

• Liaise with banks, clients, and external businesses, maintaining a professional and friendly approach.

• Conduct bank reconciliations every five weeks and assist with financial queries from fee earners.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance role (legal sector experience is a bonus but not essential).

• Ability to work independently and manage workload peaks with confidence.

• A collaborative team player who communicates effectively and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with banking platforms is advantageous.
