Deputy Nurse Manager

Salary: up to £60,000 dependent on experience

40 hours per week - Candidates must be flexible to work a mixture of supernumerary and clinical hours (including 12-hour shifts) and some weekends for on-call duties.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nurse Manager to join our client's dynamic healthcare team at their nursing home for older adults. As a key member of their leadership team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to their residents. This position requires a compassionate and skilled Registered General Nurse (Adult) with a strong background in supervising staff and a deep understanding of elderly care.

Qualifications
  • RGN (Registered General Nurse) qualification with a valid UK NMC Pin
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a nursing home or healthcare setting specifically catering to older adults
  • In-depth knowledge of elderly care and a commitment to promoting the well-being and quality of life of elderly patients
  • Strong understanding of quality and clinical governance, with the ability to lead and implement improvement initiatives within a nursing home for older adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders in an elderly care environment
  • Dedication to upholding ethical and professional standards in nursing practice, with a focus on the unique needs of older adults


Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure the well-being and comfort of our elderly residents
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement care plans and policies that uphold the highest standard of nursing care for older adults
  • Provide clinical leadership and act as a role model for the nursing team, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards for elderly care
  • Play a key role in quality and clinical governance, leading audits and ensuring continuous improvement in care delivery for our older residents
  • Contribute to staff development and training programs, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that focuses on the specific needs of elderly residents
  • Act as an advocate for residents, families, and staff, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed with empathy and professionalism, taking into account the unique challenges of elderly care
