Are you an experienced and passionate English teacher looking for a leadership role in a supportive and inclusive school? We are working with a specialist SEN school to recruit an exceptional Head of English to lead the department and support learners aged 11 to 19 with complex needs, including autism and mental health challenges.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop the English department across multiple provisions, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning for students with additional needs. You will be responsible for curriculum development, staff mentoring, and driving progress in English at GCSE level across:

A main school site for learners with additional needs
A specialist provision supporting secondary-aged learners with mental health needs under Section 19 of the Education Act
Post-16 education provision

What We're Looking For:

A qualified teacher (Primary or Secondary trained) with leadership experience or aspirations
Strong knowledge of teaching English up to GCSE level
A background in supporting students with autism and mental health needs
Excellent curriculum planning and leadership skills
High expectations of student outcomes and a commitment to safeguarding
A proactive, creative, and adaptable leader who can inspire staff and students
Someone eager for career development and professional growth
