We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join a family run steel business, and be the driving force behind its fabrication division. The company do a combination of bespoke structural and sheet metal fabrication projects.

With an unlimited supply of steel stock on site and a wide range of both CNC and manual machinery and welding equipment, this is a great chance for someone to become an integral part of the management team and forge a lasting career.

Key Responsibilities:

● Operational Leadership: Oversee all fabrication operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
● Equipment Management: Optimise the use of advanced machinery, including an 8mm press brake (3m width), guillotine, plate rollers, and programmable band saws, to enhance production efficiency.
● Process Improvement: Implement strategies to increase production capacity by up to 30%, focusing on workflow optimization and lead time reduction.
● Team Development: Lead and mentor the fabrication team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to safety protocols.
● Quality Assurance: Ensure all fabricated components meet client specifications and comply with ISO 9001 and UKCA standards.
● Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, providing technical guidance and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Candidate Profile:

● Experience: Extensive experience in steel fabrication management, with a strong background in multi-fabrication environments.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Radan software; hands-on welding and CAM experience are advantageous.

● Leadership Ability: Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing change, and driving a culture of excellence.
● Operational Efficiency: Proven track record of optimising fabrication processes and equipment utilisation.
● Quality Focus: Commitment to maintaining high standards and ensuring compliance with industry certifications.

Additional Benefits:

Basic salary upto £45,000
