Alexander Daniels are working with a great brand who are recruiting for a senior financial accountant. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with statutory and tax regulations. This is a perfect opportunity for someone passionate about finance and looking to contribute to important financial processes such as month-end accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. The role offers a hybrid contract with 2 days required in the office and 3 days from home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the production of statutory accounts and oversee external returns within specified timelines, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and comply with relevant standards.
  • Ensure accurate and controlled reporting of the balance sheet through monthly reconciliations, identifying any discrepancies and implementing corrective measures promptly.
  • Handle monthly and quarterly balance sheet and cash flow reporting and providing detailed analysis and insights into financial trends.
  • Participate in budgeting the balance sheet and cash flow for internal planning, contributing to financial forecasts and long-term financial planning.
  • Assist with Corporation Tax computations and other tax submissions across the UK and Irish Group, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and optimising tax positions.
  • Maintain VAT compliance for UK and Ireland entities, staying updated on VAT laws and regulations to prevent any potential legal issues.
  • Prepare audit information and support the Financial Accounting team on various ad hoc projects, providing expertise and guidance to enhance financial processes and systems.
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong ability to organise, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines, demonstrating a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving objectives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of performing complex data analysis and financial modeling to support decision-making processes.
  • Newly qualified ACCA or ACA qualification, coupled with 1-2 years of relevant finance experience either in practice or industry, showing a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.
