A small and friendly established business based in Harpenden are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant.

This is a standalone accounts role, and you will be doing all areas of accounts up to trial balance including payroll and CIS.

This role will suit a candidate with a solid background in accounts, ideally who has experience of CIS.

Key responsibilities:

* Processing supplier invoices and payments

* Customer Invoicing/Applications for Payment/Credit Control

* Project Costings (using Sage Projects)

* Intercompany transactions

* Banking & credit card transactions/reconciliations

* Cashflow management (good Excel skills required)

* CIS - raise tax deduction certificates/HMRC submissions/VAT domestic reverse charging (Ideally you will have experience within the construction industry and be familiar with the CIS scheme)

* Quarterly Group VAT returns

* Payroll & Pensions

* Timesheet processing

* Expenses

* Quarter End Reports for submission to accountants (Fixed assets/Accruals/Prepayments)

* Run Accounting and Payroll Year Ends

* General office admin

What the employer is looking for

* 3-5 years+ experience in Accounts up to trial balance

* Experience of working with Sage 50 Accounts

* Experience of CIS

* Able to work on your own initiative

* Able work with people at all levels

* Highly numerate and organised

* Good communication skills
