Job Summary


We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented **Document Controller** with experience in **Quality Assurance** to join our Tier 1 Contractor for their project in Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, controlling, and distributing project documentation and ensuring compliance with quality standards and procedures. This is an integral role that supports the quality management system (QMS) and ensures accurate documentation flow across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

Document Control
- Manage, track, and maintain all project-related documents (drawings, specifications, RFIs, contracts, etc.) in compliance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Ensure document control processes are followed, including timely submission and approval of documentation.
- Maintain version control, ensuring all revisions and updates are documented and easily traceable.
- Set up and maintain document registers for both internal and external documentation.
- Distribute documents to relevant teams (production, engineering, site teams, and management) to ensure proper execution of work according to current specifications.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely document submission and receipt.
- Prepare documentation handover packages, as-built records, and any required transmittals.

Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to ensure all project documentation aligns with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Support the implementation of quality control processes and procedures on structural steel projects.
- Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date and easily accessible.
- Monitor compliance with quality standards, identifying any non-conformities and reporting them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain records of quality inspections, test results, and material certifications.
- Support the team in preparing inspection test plans (ITPs) and quality reports.

Key Requirements
- Proven experience in document control within the construction, engineering, or structural steel industry.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance/Quality Control practices and procedures, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
- Proficiency in document control software (such as Aconex, Viewpoint, or similar), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Document Controller in the construction or structural steel fabrication industry.
- Experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a fabrication or construction environment is highly desirable.
