The Role:

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum

Teach a range of literary texts, creative writing, and language analysis

Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed

Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support

Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and department initiatives

Participate in extracurricular activities, such as book clubs, debate teams, or theatre productions

Essential Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching English in a secondary school setting

Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language

An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one

Excellent communication and classroom management skills

A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for English

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Experience with A-Level English Language or Literature delivery

Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners

Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria

Ability to contribute to whole-school literacy initiatives
