Our client is looking for a Recruitment Assistant to join their established team. Recruitment is a critical area for our client to support the wellbeing of residents and staff.

This role would suit a highly organised and creative person. You will be results focused and able to understand the organisational picture and what the recruitment and retention priorities are.

This role is 30 hours per week Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 16:30

Previous HR or Recruitment background is desired, together with a willingness to study (or have gained) CIPD

Key Duties:

* Resourcing candidates and being proactive with recruitment method

* Being part of the recruitment and selection process

* Ensure due process is followed in line with safer recruitment policy

* Input all relevant information, ensuring it is current and Payroll ready on a monthly basis. This will be for new starters and other workers

* Record recruitment data to prepare monthly recruitment reports

* Attend and lead recruitment events across the county

* Maintain the HR filing system

Daily Tasks:

* With the support of the Recruitment Lead, undertake all HR recruitment and onboarding administration

* Be the first point of contact for all recruitment-related enquiries

* Understand the recruitment spend available when placing adverts, onboarding agencies, agreeing recruitment marketing initiatives etc.

* Maintain the recruitment administration and ensure all paperwork is current and reflective of changing legislation

* Be responsible for updating all interview questions, working with relevant department heads

* With the support of the Recruitment Lead, prepare interview packs for the hiring managers, write job adverts

* Maintain relationships with recruitment agencies on the PSL placing live vacancies with them where appropriate

* Manage the recruitment email inbox ensuring all responses are timely

* Work with the hiring manager to sift applications/shortlist in pre-selection

* Manage all pre-employment checks including referencing (prior to interview) and offers of employment

* 'Meet and greet' all interviewees and make appropriate ID checks and online DBS applications

* Participate in the interview process where appropriate

* Ensure all successful candidates have a DBS completed within a timely manner, references gained, foreign police checks are sought where applicable and further checks for specialist roles

* Create personnel files for all new starters ensuring they are filed correctly

* Manage the creation of all ID badges ensuring photos are taken of all new starters

* Be familiar with all HR policy and procedure and up to date with the Safeguarding Policy

* Prepare any documentation in preparation for audit or inspections and assist as required

* Attend training courses and recruitment seminars as required/in relation to the ongoing work

* Manage the response from recruitment adverts, contacting suitable candidates and undertake pre-screening as well as sending rejection letters where appropriate
