My client is a leading property and construction company in London. This Financial Controller role is a high profile position leading a team of management accountants, providing an efficient and effective reporting and advising service to the Senior Finance team and wider business.
Managing a team of Management Accountants - having regular reviews, giving feedback, supporting career development and performance managing where required to deliver results. Coordinating with the AP Manager to ensure payment runs are completed on a timely basis, reviewing the accuracy and tax compliance. Leading the team and coordinating with CFMs, to maintain, update and review profit forecast and cashflow system, ensuring all factors are reflected. Producing the annual budget in partnership with other departments across the business and the wider finance team. Ensuring departmental accounting standards are maintained and control processes are reviewed and enforced. Reviewing sales contracts, customer agreements and leases, ensuring anti-money laundering compliance. Facilitating the year-end Audit, liaising with external auditors. Completing reporting requests, process improvements and other ad hoc projects as requested by the Head of Finance/Finance Director/Group Finance, in a timely manner. Responding quickly to Group Finance requests on profit and cashflow forecasting and variances, presenting the data in different ways. Liaising with Sales and attending regular meetings to discuss sales reservations and exchanges - reviewing reports from Legal Progressors to provide updates. Reviewing key balance sheet areas half-yearly with stakeholders across the business, ensuring sufficient justification and evidence is obtained. Enabling access or amendments to relevant IT accounts.
Monthly Review Reviewing and checking monthly management accounts and Board reports. Ensuring month-end is closed in a timely and accurate basis. Presenting profit and cash forecasts in system review meetings to FDs. Cost reporting for completed sites, leading on meetings with Estates and Customer Services to discuss. Financial Control Responding swiftly to queries as the key point of contact for GDPR data breaches, VAT including DRC, and other elements of tax compliance. Reviewing and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements including VAT and CIS returns. Tracking and reviewing Government affordable schemes
