The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Classroom Care Assistant to support students at our well-regarded SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Primary School in Bishop Auckland. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance, including personal care and hygiene, administering medications, and ensuring a safe, nurturing learning environment.

You will work closely with teachers to implement behavior management strategies, support the academic progress of students, and help maintain accurate records. Your ability to communicate effectively, show empathy, and adapt to individual needs will be key to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students with a range of needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults in an educational or care setting.
Resilience and the ability to meet the demands of a special school environment.
A genuine understanding of the needs of students with learning difficulties.
Excellent reliability and punctuality.
An empathetic, patient, and adaptable nature to support students in their learning and personal development.
