Water Sector Lead Design Engineer - TEMP - South East Region

Lead Design Engineer

• Undertake LDE role for Wastewater Infrastructure scheme solution identification, definition and outline design.
• To act as the first point of contact to have single point accountability and leadership for technical design matters for a number of projects within a Water Utilities Capital Programme within a defined geographical area.
• Co-ordinating the design team to deliver the required outputs under the design manager.
• Delivering on optimised projects to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines and targets.
• Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole life cost basis.
• Complying with quality systems and processes so outcomes meet all standards.

Person Specification

• Educated to degree level
• Chartered Engineer or outstanding role specific experience

Required Experience

• Track record of success in leading the technical delivery of significant capital Projects at a senior level within the Water Industry.
• Has either significant experience in water infrastructure design, with a focus on trunk mains or wastewater infrastructure design, with focus on rising mains
• Understands the designer’s responsibilities under CDM.
• Has proven process improvement design and implementation capability.
• Has broad industry and business knowledge and experience in complex investment-type decisions.
• Ideally has consultant and client-side experience.
