If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!About the Role:Our established and highly regarded client in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant/Secretary to join their conveyancing team. You will play a crucial role in supporting Fee Earners, ensuring they can operate at peak efficiency. This varied role also includes reception duties, making you the friendly face and voice of the firm.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Fee Earners.
  • Maintain and manage Fee Earners' diaries, scheduling meetings, and appointments.
  • Handle client correspondence, both routine and complex, ensuring all communications are professional and timely.
  • Manage the opening and closing of client files, ensuring all records are meticulously maintained.
  • Attend to clients in person and over the phone, upholding the firm’s high standard of client care.
  • Draft and produce client correspondence, including bills and legal documents, often from dictated notes.
  • Submit SDLT forms to HMRC and manage property registration applications with the Land Registry.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all client and firm information at all times.
  • Manage client accounts, including requests for payments and recording receipts.
About You:
  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant/Secretary, ideally within conveyancing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach to managing your workload.
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and capable of handling sensitive information.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to providing excellent service to both clients and colleagues.
