12 Month Contract - Hybrid
Our client in the Mining Industry is looking for a Domain Engineer. Must have a strong understanding of AD Attributes, LDAP queries, Powershell Scripting to Modify AD Attributes. Group Policy Analysis, GPO Configuration and Item-Level Targeting, Workstation Configurations, Browser Configuration Settings, familiarity with VMView and other Applications that integrated with Active Directory.
About this position:
- Strong knowledge of permissions that are granted natively to various Microsoft Built-In Groups to perform Active Directory Administrative Functions, knowledge of native permissions granted when building AD objects, knowledge of permissions granted natively to Built-In Groups via GPOs and/or Local Policies
- Thorough functional understanding and ability to configure Active Directory Server Roles (CAs, IIS, File/Print, DNS)
- Working knowledge of GPOs, AD Sites, Replication Topology, and native AD troubleshooting tools
- The Active Directory Engineer will plan, support, implement and design a directory synchronization system for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions
- Implementation of Business-driven changes, Configuration of Group Policies and Integration of AD Management tools/services
- Analysis, design and implementation of Active Directory and Identity Management solutions
- Independently manage and perform engineering lead role for large scale Active Directory and Identity Management projects
- Analyze current Active Directory environment to identify both technical and operational challenges and develop solutions for improvement
- Analysis, design, capacity planning and implementation of Active Directory Security
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with colleagues, development team and business departments to analyse and workshop requirements
- Take ownership of system infrastructure and help to maintain reliability and uptime of core services
- Research and implement new tools, technologies and best practices based on business and IT requirements
- Pair traditional system administration and engineering practices with automation, observability and software development skills.
- Operate and administer Windows servers and management tools on-premise and cloud with a system thinking mindset.
- Understand broad operational performance factors resulting from integrated systems that account for such things as:
- Underlying infrastructure (Container/virtualization/server/networking/storage platforms)
- Security and Controls requirements (Cybersecurity)
- Data/integration
- Availability
- Change management
- Emergency response / Disaster Recovery
- Occasional after-hours support
- Documenting, executing and maintaining the monthly reporting and presentation processes
- Adhering to organisation structure (processes, systems, tools, templates, and operating practices)
- Provide expert technical guidance and input
- Play a leading role in the System engineering team
- Create and maintain technical documentation as needed
Experience:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience is required
- System Architecture Design, documenting, consulting
- Advanced Active Directory implementation, maintenance and support
- Security certificate management and deployments / Wildcard certificates
- Secure FTP (Cerberus beneficial)
