The Role:
As the Procurement Specialist, you will take charge of sourcing and managing suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials that meet the company’s high-quality standards. You will also be responsible for driving efficiencies, negotiating contracts, and fostering strong supplier relationships to support the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives and production needs
- Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating terms, contracts, and reviewing performance
- Identify and source new suppliers to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure continuous supply
- Work closely with the production and supply chain teams to maintain stock levels and forecast future requirements
- Stay updated on market trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and ethical standards in all procurement activities
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Knowledge of procurement processes, cost-saving techniques, and supplier sourcing
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is beneficial but not essential
