Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with NHS London Commercial Hub as they look to recruit a Procurement Officer to join their high performing Procurement and Contracting function.

NHS London Commercial Hub is hosted by NHS North East London (NEL) Integrated Care Board (ICB).  They are an exciting new organisation which was formed on 1 July 2022, priding themselves on putting the needs of communities at the heart of our commissioning arrangements.

The London Commercial Hub provide a high-quality Procurement and Contracting service to other London ICBs and NHS England.  The team has a strong reputation for high standards of delivery to its clients and stakeholders and pride themselves on internal development and career progression.

Role:

The Procurement Officer role will provide the opportunity to gain experience in public sector procurement, working in a variety of category areas.

The Procurement Officer will support the day-to-day operation of the client’s tendering processes for Clinical and Non-Clinical Services. This will include supporting the Senior Procurement Manager/Head of Procurement to deliver a strategic procurement service, contribute to the delivery of allocated procurement projects, sustainable cost improvements, and a range of benefits across the various clinical and non-clinical services commissioned by the client.

This entry level role into the Procurement and Commercial department offers a brilliant career pathway, with several staff who joined the organisation at Band 5 level developing into competent and accomplished procurement professionals.

Duties:

  • Support procurement activities including tenders, framework call-offs and quotation processes
  • Support/Lead on low-medium complexity procurement projects for partners as directed by the Head of Procurement
  • Support the team to ensure that tender instructions, evaluation criteria and associated governances are adequately described in tender documentation, using SOPs and standards as applicable
  • Support the team to provide procurement and commercial feedback on customer-produced service specifications to ensure added commercial value
  • Provide excellent customer service delivery, action cost-saving opportunities as agreed with clients and work with colleagues and partner stakeholders to draft project plans
  • Use the mandated e-tendering portal (Atamis) to produce reports for moderation meetings and supplier debriefings

Person:

  • Educated to degree level OR experience within procurement/supply chain
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Strong knowledge of project principles and administration
