Location: Bury St Edmunds
Our client, a growing housing association, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Management Accountant to join their team in Bury St Edmunds. This is a newly created position, where you will have the opportunity to shape and lead their finance function, ensuring financial strength and transparency across the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, as well as leading the annual statutory accounts process.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a business partner, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reconciling, and financial modelling.
- Produce, present, and interpret management information to support informed decision-making.
- Work closely with budget holders to ensure performance is tracked and necessary actions are taken.
- Lead the annual statutory accounts process, managing enquiries and handling journal postings.
- Use your excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, to streamline financial processes.
- Collaborate with the wider team, contributing to the overall success of the business.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to produce and present high-quality management information.
- Experience supporting budget holders and delivering financial insights.
- Previous experience leading the annual statutory accounts process.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for accounting.
- Strong line management experience and excellent team player skills.
- Experience with Xero Accounting and Inflo software (desirable).
