Pharmacy Quality and Development Manager – Maternity CoverLondon NW10 0AB

  • Fixed Term Contract from now until 30th September 2025
  • 3 days (or 22.5hrs) a week
  • Salary £45,000 – £50,000 p.a. pro rata

Our client provides safe access to medicines for NHS Trusts, Unscheduled Care, Primary Care, and other settings through their network of pharmacies and WDA-licensed premises.

Role Overview:

Based at the Head Office and reporting to the Chief Pharmacist, you will ensure best practices for the organisation by performing the following duties:

Maintain Clinical Governance and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all staff adhere to the Quality System; maintain a risk register.
  • Investigate and report all errors, and deviations from standard procedure.
  • Ensure all pharmacy staff and premises meet GPhC Standards at the highest level.

Develop and Implement SOPs, Policies, and Audits:

  • Participate in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, audits, and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure SOPs are effectively trained to all staff, with training documented, and that premises are inspection-ready at all times.

Conduct Audits and Quality Checks:

  • Perform announced and unannounced audits at all sites.
  • Complete prescribing quality audits on behalf of our commissioners.
  • Maintain clinical risk assessments and ensure all legal requirements are met.

Hands-On Operational Involvement:

  • Use your initiative to improve quality in pharmacy services.
  • Take a hands-on approach to all aspects of the operation.
  • Work with the team to continuously improve safety, efficiency, and quality.

Qualifications:

  • GPhC registered pharmacist or technician.
  • At least three years of experience in community or hospital pharmacy.
  • Previous experience in a quality environment would be an advantage
  • Strong commitment to maintaining high standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
