About the Role: Exciting opportunity to join a new, growing engineering business in Peterborough – if you are a driven Sales Engineer working within the FMCG sector and looking for a change, this could be the role for you. Having doubled its turnover, and investing in growing its teams, this is an exciting time to join the business as a Sales Engineer.  A newly appointed Senior Leadership Team is embedding new, best practice process throughout the organisation allowing them to compete for, and win, sizeable contracts with household names. As a key player in the sales team, you will use industry experience and knowledge to prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for the design, manufacture, installation, and management of FMCG/food manufacturing projects. You will gather necessary information to prepare and send proposals to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will maintain existing client contracts and actively seek out new clients and estimating opportunities. As a Sales Engineer you will:
  • Prepare technical proposals in accordance with Sales and Engineering specifications.
  • Conduct initial discussions and specification reviews to understand the project requirements.
  • Maintain a customer focused approach and build strong customer relationships.
  • Produce comprehensive proposal documents in Word format, incorporating images and tables.
  • Formulate detailed costing sheets for customers in excel format.
  • Follow up on Proposal with customers and record/report feedback
Who we are looking for: 
  • You must have a degree in engineering and ideally some experience in Technical Sales OR Process Engineering 
  • Strong MS skills, including Excel,
  • Strong Numerical ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and network effectively
