Our client are a top tier consultancy looking for Interaction Designer with active Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and prototype intuitive, accessible, and user-centered interactions for digital products and services, ensuring compliance with GDS standards.
- Work closely with UX designers, service designers, developers, and stakeholders to create, test, and iterate prototypes that support user needs.
- Apply the GDS prototyping toolkit to develop interactive and engaging prototypes that meet government accessibility and usability standards.
- Conduct user research, gather insights, and apply feedback to refine and improve prototypes.
- Participate in user testing sessions and iterate designs based on findings to enhance the user experience.
- Advocate for GDS design principles and accessibility best practices across all stages of the design process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that design solutions align with overall project goals and user requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Active SC Clearance is essential for this role.
- Proven experience as an Interaction Designer within the public sector or on GDS-aligned projects.
- Expertise in using the GDS prototyping toolkit to create interactive prototypes.
- Strong knowledge of GDS service standards, accessibility guidelines, and user-centered design principles.
- Proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Axure, with a focus on GDS toolkit integration.
- Experience in conducting user research and applying findings to inform and improve design solutions.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design decisions effectively.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for prototyping purposes.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (eg, WCAG 2.1) and experience in designing for inclusivity.
- Previous experience working on digital transformation projects within the public sector.
