Anderson Knight is currently looking for a Direct Procurement Officer for one of our clients based in Falkirk.

The Direct Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services that are critical to the production and operational processes of the company. This role ensures that materials meet the required quality, are delivered on time, and are acquired at competitive prices, while maintaining good supplier relationships and optimising procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for materials and services used in production.

* Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers, ensuring that performance standards for quality, cost, and delivery are met.

* Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.

* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams) to determine procurement needs.

* Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business goals and production schedules.

* Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation and value-added services.

* Issue purchase orders, monitor open orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials.

* Track orders and manage exceptions to ensure there are no interruptions in the supply chain.

* Handle any discrepancies in order quantities, quality issues, or returns.

* Secure long-term agreements with strategic suppliers, ensuring cost optimisation and reliability.

* Work closely with inventory management and production planning teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate stock levels.

* Monitor procurement costs and ensure alignment with the budget.

* Prepare and present cost analysis and market trends reports to senior management.
