Teaching Assistant
Daily Rate: £83.00 - £100.00
Location - York and surrounding areas
Start date: October 2024 or January 2025

Are you looking to work with children aged 11 - 16 in secondary schools? Do you enjoy supporting young people and helping them overcome their barriers to learning?

GSL Education work with secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas who require Teaching Assistants to join them on a supply and temporary basis. The role is initially to work via our supply agency on a full or part time basis, with opportunities to be appointed on a direct school contract as and when opportunities arise.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

To establish a professional rapport with young people aged between 11 and 16 years old.
To differentiate the support, you give to each and every student, dependant on their needs.
To engage in activities led by the classroom teachers and offer support where possible.
To provide support to student who have special educational needs, ensuring their safety whilst following the school's curriculum.
Offering guidance and feedback to students under the direction of the class teacher.
Qualifications and Experience Required:

GCSEs, A-Levels, an Undergraduate Degree or Master's degree are all desirable.
Experience with children outside of school or with vulnerable adults
The role is also suitable for university students who are currently studying
Experience in care or nursing would also be desired but not essential
Working with GSL Education:

Work with Kerry Fowler who will be your dedicated Consultant, finding you suitable and regular work in and around York.
Competitive daily rates of pay via PAYE or an Umbrella Company.
Work in Secondary and SEN Schools in York, Selby, Easingwold and surrounding areas.
