SEMH/Behavioural Teaching Assistant - Pay: £84 - £95 - 6.5 hours per day
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant working in alternative provision, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with personal care, helping to manage their behavioural challenges, supporting and nurturing the students in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour management strategies and provide targeted support. This school works with Secondary students. Your work may involve PE sessions, games and other activities that interest the students.
The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant will possess
- A keen interest in working with children
- Experience (paid or voluntary) working with Children and/or in the care/education sector
- Experience in Alternative Provision or Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting is desired but not essential
- Open to training and development
- Proactive work ethic
- A good understanding of special educational needs
- The ability to provide a range of support to pupils
- A patient and understanding attitude
- The ability to work as part of a team
