Build Maintain Recruit is partnering with a leading privately-owned housing developer seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Midlands region.

You will report directly to the Managing Surveyor and Commercial Director, taking responsibility for cost management across residential development projects. Your main objective will be to control expenses while ensuring high-quality standards are upheld.

You will manage projects from start to finish, including budget oversight, subcontractor procurement, preparation of valuation reports, and providing essential support to both commercial and site teams.

The ideal candidate would be based in, Gloucestershire or Cheltenham.

Duties

· Running 3 developments across different sites

· Measure and value works on-site and from drawings for valuations and variations under your Line Manager's guidance

· Procure and analyse sub-contract tender packages

· Evaluate and agree on variations and instructions

· Measure and value subcontractors' work for payment and account management

· Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors in line with subcontract agreements

· Complete in-house site valuations and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) according to valuation schedules

· Prepare interim and final development appraisals and budgets

· Conduct material reconciliations

· Provide precise costings for all aspects of site development

· Collaborate with site staff and subcontractors to enhance productivity

· Attend monthly Development Team and Groundworker meetings on-site

You will need

· Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding sector

· Relevant construction industry qualifications

· Ability to prioritise tasks and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and applications

· Problem-solving skills with a flexible approach

· Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of COINS is advantageous
