Leader Group is thrilled to be partnering with a dynamic and forward-thinking group of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) independent schools to recruit an enthusiastic and committed professional for the role of Deputy Headteacher. This is an incredible opportunity for a skilled Senior Leader looking to make a significant impact in a supportive, values-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Serve as a core member of the school's senior leadership team, setting a standard of excellence and a clear moral purpose, ensuring an exceptional education for all pupils.
  • Assist the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school, shaping an inclusive, high-quality learning environment.
  • Take the lead in the Headteacher's absence, stepping into critical decision-making roles as needed.
  • Play a central role in shaping, implementing, and reviewing the School Development Plan, helping to drive school improvement.
  • Oversee the curriculum, ensuring academic standards and monitoring pupil progress to foster achievement for all.
  • Manage staff and resources effectively to meet school objectives and enhance educational outcomes.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students and aligning with statutory guidelines.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be an experienced Senior Leader ready for a new challenge, with a proven track record in school improvement and leadership.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the OFSTED framework and independent school standards, ensuring the school meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Demonstrate expertise in safeguarding, curriculum planning, and staff management with a proactive and strategic approach.
  • Be a strong leader in behavior management, setting and maintaining high behavior standards across the school.
  • Hold an advanced understanding of the SEND code of practice and experience supporting students with SEND effectively.
  • Exhibit a thorough working knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education regulations.
