An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Credit Controller to join a Finance team in a well known global company based in Southport. This fixed term contract position will play a key role in maintaining financial stability by managing debt recovery and cash flow.

Description

Duties for the successful credit controller will be:

  • Managing a portfolio of independent accounts and liaising with both internal and external customers to resolve day to day queries.
  • Collecting overdue debt and ensuring customer spend is within the credit limits provided to reduce the risk of potential bad debt for the business.
  • Making decisions daily on credit accounts, suspending and releasing to ensure potential bad debt is kept to a minimum but also to ensure repeat trade from customers.
  • Perform credit control tasks including debt recovery and cash flow management.
  • Liaise with customers to negotiate and manage payment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities.
  • Work closely with the accountancy team to ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
  • Issue invoices and statements to customers.
  • Follow-up on overdue accounts and escalate any issues as necessary.
  • Prepare regular reports on credit control activities for management review.
  • Adhere to all company policies and financial regulations.

Profile

A successful Credit Controller should have:

  • An educational background in Accounting & Finance or a related field.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
