We have an opportunity for Development Support Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking business and to become an integral part of the engineering team to support and contribute to products development.

You will be a key member of the team providing support primarily to development teams but also to production, customers and distributors. You will support development and improvement of our products. The support work must tie in with all aspects of development, so consideration must be made with hardware, firmware and calibration procedures.

As well as R&D projects you may also find yourself working with others to support production assembly and maintenance as required. This is 'hands-on' position requiring at least 5 years experienced in electronic product development including product assembly and strong soldering skills.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Other duties may involve working with our Production Technicians and wider support within a team.

You will require an engineering qualification in electronics or mechatronics with experience in supporting electronic product development

* Design and build relevant mechanical jigs and fixtures.

* Read engineering drawings both mechanical and electronic

* PCB schematic and layout design software

* Capability of editing mechanical CAD drawings

* Electronics including

* Analogue Circuitry

* Microcontroller DSP circuit functionality

* Systems integration

* Embedded firmware

* Soldering - IPC certified beneficial

* Fault finding to component level including power supplies

* Cable assemblies

* Electro-Mechanical Assembly

* Calibration

* Technical support

* Write and update work instructions, test procedures and Engineering change documents.

* Apply skills and experience to a wider range of applications and challenges.

* Computer literate including CAD, MS Word, Excel, One Drive / SharePoint.

* Quality Assurance

* Excellent problem-solving skills

* Work within a small manufacturing environment

* Driving licence
