I am currently working with a public sector body who currently have an urgent need for Assistant Capital Accountant to support the Capital and Treasury Manager.

Role

• Capital Budget monitoring (monthly/quarterly)
• Working closely with project managers/budget holders to ensure project costs are captured correctly.
• Assist with capital budget planning process. (Reconciling Capital approved governance papers to the capital programme)
• Prepare capital journals and undertake reconciliation tasks.
• Assist with completion of statutory capital returns.
• Month-end and year-end activities.
• Good Excel skills
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of local government/public sector capital accounting
• Ideally with local government/public sector experience.

Ideally part qualified…the role will be hybrid working.
