About Us:

Our client are a leading FMCG manufacturer based near Huddersfield. There are considered leaders within their category and product areas and combine a strong long stranding heritage with a modern, innovative approach to business and relationships. They now have an opportunity to bring someone in as a Production Planner with the wider remit including getting involved in planning production, optimizing processes, allocating resources, interacting with customers, reporting and analysis, and purchasing raw materials and managing logistics. This role provides a great opportunity for the right person to develop into a strong multi-discipline manager.

Job Description

* Create, issue, communicate and control weekly production plans to ensure order fulfilment on-time-in-full delivery.

* Monitor end to end production process and plans to ensure production meets OTIF and adjust the plan accordingly.

* Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished product as well as inventory management.

* Engage collaboratively with the wider team.

Key Accountabilities

* Coordinate changes in plans to meet changing demands or resolve production issues.

* Provide first line support for queries regarding finished product availability.

* Utilise OrderWise (internal ERP system) to effectively plan and coordinate requirements, create and issue purchase orders and monitor the status to ensure on-time-in-full material delivery.

* Carry out perpetual stock counts in collaboration with the wider team, deal with any discrepancies.

* Maintain effective communication with cross functional departments, and the supply chain, including suppliers.

The Person

We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills:

* Educated to A Level or equivalent, a relevant degree is preferable.

* Previous experience (2-4 years) in production planning and/or supply chain management.

* Competent in using ERP systems, data analysis tools, and MS Office skills, especially Excel

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration

* Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines
