Our Geo-Environmental & Mining (GEM) Business Unit encompasses Land Quality, Ground Investigation, Groundwater & Geothermal, and Mining disciplines. We undertake a wide range of projects across sectors such as Energy, Defence, Property, and Government Services.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our 100-strong GEM Business Unit. The successful candidate will deliver focused solutions for our key clients, emphasising technical excellence, client care, and effective project management. You will work alongside specialists in land quality, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater, and geotechnical fields to provide comprehensive solutions. Collaboration with geo-environmental teams in other offices and specialists in planning, environment, and engineering is also a key part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management: Coordinate multi-discipline project teams.
Client Management: Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Ground Investigations: Assist in the design, procurement, supervision, and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations.
Desk Studies: Conduct desktop study assessments.
Data Analysis: Collect, analyse, and interpret site data accurately.
Technical Reporting: Produce detailed technical reports.
Monitoring: Undertake ground gas and groundwater monitoring and assessments.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background: Degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science, or a related field.
Experience: Several years of post-graduate experience.
Project Management: Proven experience in managing large project teams, resources, quality, budget, and program delivery.
Health & Safety: Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental management.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with current contaminated land technical guidance, Part 2A legislation, and the development planning regime.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with a track record of developing strong client relationships.
Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date with current practices and standards for the investigation, assessment, and remediation of contaminated land.
Professional Development: Commitment to pursuing professional qualifications.
Teamwork & Initiative: Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
