Job Title: Actuarial Developer Location: London/ HybridPosition Type: Permanent, Full-time About the Role:A leading specialty insurer are looking for an experienced Actuarial Analyst or Software Engineer with expertise in MS SQL Server and Python to support the actuarial reserving function of a leading global insurer. You will help enhance systems that manage actuarial data, automate processes, and improve the efficiency of core reserving functions. Key Responsibilities: * Actuarial Reserving Support: Develop an understanding of actuarial principles and assist with the transformation of reserving processes using SQL Server and Python. * Reporting & Automation: Create custom reporting scripts, stored procedures, and automate actuarial calculations and data processing. * Database Development & Administration: Work on SQL Server development, improve database architecture, and optimise data ingestion and storage. * Environment & Version Control: Implement clear separation of DEV and PROD environments and manage version control using Azure DevOps/GitHub. * Collaboration & Compliance: Work closely with other teams to improve business processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain accurate documentation. Skills & Experience: Essential: * Advanced T-SQL knowledge, including database design and performance optimisation. * Strong Python programming skills, particularly in data science and integrating with SQL Server. * Experience with SQL Server management and administration. * Familiarity with Power BI (desirable but not essential). * Strong communication and organisational skills. Desirable: * Knowledge of actuarial principles. * Experience with version control tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub.
