Join a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries across the UK. We are seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical psychology and neuropsychology input within our neurobehavioural model at Ty Aberdafen. This role is crucial in leading and ensuring the delivery of our neurobehavioural model of rehabilitation through multi/interdisciplinary teamwork.
Day-to-day of the role: - Provide specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessments for adults with acquired brain injury, utilizing a variety of diagnostic tools and methods.
- Develop specialist, collaborative, and holistic neurobehavioural formulations of individuals’ rehabilitation needs, including SMART goals.
- Coordinate care for service users, acting as keyworker/clinical lead as appropriate.
- Formulate and implement plans for highly specialist psychological/neuropsychological interventions as part of the multi/interdisciplinary team, based on evidence-based best practices.
- Undertake psychological therapeutic and rehabilitation interventions, employing a range of modalities tailored to individual needs and contexts.
- Provide a specialist psychological perspective in the assessment of service users and their families, contributing to therapeutic approaches and intervention plans.
- Conduct psychologically based risk assessments and management,and provide guidance on psychological aspects of risk to the team.
- Consult with and provide specialist psychological guidance to carers and families of service users.
- Maintain responsibility for the psychological management of service users on your caseload.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Degree in Psychology accepted by BPS for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or equivalent for HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
- Registered with the HCPC.
- Demonstrated interest in clinical neuropsychology.
- General knowledge of acquired brain injury pathology, neuroanatomy, symptoms, recovery courses, and rehabilitation approaches.
- Relevant experience in producing clinical reports.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical area.
- Experience working within a multi/interdisciplinary team, supporting team processing, and promoting psychological thinking in team formulations and goal setting.
