  • Salary: £40k- £42K p.a. (pro-rata for contract)
  • Hourly rate: £20.50- £21.53 per hour PAYE or £25.65 - £26.97 per hour via am umbrella company.
  • Location: Redhill, Surrey (Hybrid working- 2-3 days in the office per week) 
  • Job Type: Interim -37.5 hours 
  • Start Date: Early September 2024
  • Contract Length: Until end of December 2024 (possible extension)

We are seeking an Accountant to join our finance team on an interim basis. This role is ideal for a dynamic and proactive individual who is part-qualified or qualified with experience in financial processes and controls. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our financial statements through balance sheet reconciliation, internal control reviews, and month-end closing activities.  Assisting the regulatory accountant with this project.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating internal processes and controls, identifying any deficiencies.
  • Provide expert advice on the design and implementation of effective internal controls.
  • Support the month-end closing process and the preparation of management accounts.
  • Participate in reforecasting and budgeting exercises to align financial projections with business objectives.
  • Tackle other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the finance team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant with relevant experience.
  • Proven experience with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong background in streamlining processes, designing, and implementing effective controls.
  • Auditing experience focused on internal controls is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of finance to discuss current processes and how they could be improved.
